The spring semester for Language and Dance Classes will be starting on Sunday, January 22. Our language class, taught by Ms. Li Ye, is based on conversational Chinese, so the emphasis is on speaking and understanding. We enforce vocabulary and concepts learned in class through Chinese songs and games. The classes have culture based themes that change every month and class activities are centered around them. Hey everyone! Unfortunately, our December event will have to be moved to January 7. We’ve figured that since many people have such crowded schedules with holiday celebrations and gatherings left and right, this would be the best decision. So, be on the look out for our Evite, which will have more information about our January Holiday Party! It’ll be filled with lots of hot cocoa, crafts and games, and hopefully –cross your fingers– snow!!!

The Morning Star Dance Academy is performing at the Gwinnett Center on Sunday, November 20th, featuring a variety of Chinese dance and classical ballet performances. This is an amazing cultural experience and a great opportunity for kids to be a part of the Chinese community.

Last Saturday, we had our annual Halloween Party! Although there was some crazy winds going on, the experiments went well –the goop and lava lamps were especially cool– and we ate lots of food! But of course, the best part was the costumes! The Best Little Sister/Brother Costume Award went to Katherine Perello, our Princess Jasmine from Aladdin, the Best Big Sister/Brother Costume Award went to Ryan Bhuiyan, a.k.a. Waldo.
